PDPM: The Ripple Effect
December 5, 2019
October 1st has come and gone, and skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) are adjusting to the new reality of the Patient-Driven Payment Model, (PDPM). Such a fundamental change to the Medicare post-acute care reimbursement system is bound to have ripple effects outside the SNF to both their referring hospitals and their other payers such as Medicare Advantage. Join us for a discussion of how SNFs and their partners are adapting their workflow and communication to ensure appropriate capture of PDPM clinical drivers. We’ll discuss the implications for value-based purchasing (VBP) programs, and the role of analytics in ensuring future post-acute success.
Learning Objectives:
- State the changes required in skilled nursing facilities’ (SNF) processes to capture skilled services under the Patient-Driven Payment Model (PDPM)
- Identify three potential areas of PDPM compliance risk
- Explain two potential areas of post-acute care analytics based on the data available through PDPM
