Dr. Barry Fogel, MD, MBA, is a neurologist, psychiatrist, mathematician and inventor. He co-founded PointRight and has provided the company with intellectual leadership and new product concepts throughout the company’s history. Dr. Fogel is a Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and a staff neurologist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. He has patented inventions in the fields of computer software, pharmaceuticals and medical devices. Dr. Fogel is the scientific founder of Synchroneuron, a development stage CNS pharmaceutical company. Dr. Fogel has published several influential medical books. His latest book, Psychiatric Care of the Medical Patient, Third Edition, was published in the summer of 2015 by Oxford University Press. Dr. Fogel’s undergraduate education was at Princeton University. He received graduate degrees in mathematics from UC Berkeley and his M.D. from UCSF. He had residency training in neurology at Harvard and in psychiatry at Stanford University. Before joining the Harvard faculty in 1997, he was Associate Director of the Brown University Center for Gerontology and Health Care Research. He earned his MBA at MIT.
